New AVChat 3.7.5 Brings Compatibility With Red5 1.0.7 and 1.0.8
We’ve implemented some server side changes to make AVChat compatible with the latest versions of Red5 (1.0.7 and 1.0.8).
We’ve maintained backwards compatibility with older versions of Red5, with which AVChat will work out of the box.
For Red5 1.0.7 and 1.0.8 one additional change needs to be made after installing the AVChat server side app:
- Go to
/Your_Red5_Install_Directory/webapps/avchat30/WEB-INF - Open
red-web.xml with any text editor - Uncomment line 37.

So glad to see this! I was upgrading one of our servers this month and wanting to use the latest red5!
Now if we can just get the ability for people to kick and bar other users from entering their user created rooms – and some way to get bad user ip addys to the superadmin without sending the ips to all the users and mods – this thing will be super awesome!
would be nice to give user created room owners extra options like – do not allow ‘guest users’, and it would super awesome if avchat could lookup a users ‘friends’ in the wp buddypress and give an option to only allow friends to enter.. but the password protection thing works for now – if they could only kick and ban other users that become trouble.
Also noticed that our system as it is set to not send ips around, when cell phone visitors come in, we cant kick them from user rooms or the main system, even as super admins – have to restart the red5 –
maybe adding alted / hash code to each user that can translate to an ip addy for the superadmin – can save reports and kicks / bans fromt he whole system or room by room basis – and still keep privacy –
fingers crossed more good things come to this system, I am looking at springing for the theme customization for a couple of these – but need the basics covered first.

@octavian – when visiting here using firefox and chrome it just says “audio comment” – no way to click to play or anything.
